Over the next several months, I'll be writing short articles for Nick on the art of developing and delivering business presentations, as well as how to deal with difficult audiences and other speaking challenges. I sincerely hope visitors to mhvo.com will gain insight on mastering what someone once said is “the second business of every business--making presentations.” The recognition of the overwhelming importance of speaking ablity is nothing new. Over 2500 years ago, the great orator and statesman of ancient Athens, Pericles, wrote that
“Those who can think, but cannot express what they think, place themselves at the level of those who cannot think.”
How many times have we all seen very bright people fall far short of their abilities when they had to make a presentation?
