S. DEAN KIM

atty pics 005-kimS. Dean Kim received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Chicago in 1991 and his Juris Doctor in 1994 from Cornell Law School.

Mr. Kim gained extensive experience in construction law during the first six years of his legal career as an Assistant Corporation Counsel of the City of New York, representing the City of New York in construction and lien foreclosure actions arising out of the City’s capital improvement projects, as well as defending the City against Article 78 proceedings, claims alleging civil rights violations, and Labor Law claims.  Mr. Kim continued to represent various towns and counties in construction disputes after leaving public service.  As such, Mr. Kim has developed an intimate familiarity with municipal contracts and statutory requirements in pursuing claims on public projects Moreover, since he has been in private practice, Mr. Kim has represented some of the largest construction companies, architects, and engineers in the metropolitan area in litigation involving construction claims, Lien Law, surety law, and professional malpractice.

Mr. Kim is admitted to practice in both the state and federal courts in the State of New York.
